PC John “Grumpy” Callor volunteers his time in our community.  #RedForEd has caused a stir in the school community.

With the recent focus on the grossly underfunded education budget, several Districts closed to allow teachers to participate in a Walk-Out to the State capitol to meet with Governor Ducey and Legislators, to demand higher pay for teachers and support staff, and increased funding for services for students.

PC John “Grumpy” Callor spent part of his morning helping with a Letter to Mr. Mayor writing activity in PC Felicia Chew’s First Grade classroom at Presidio Schools during their day of civic education and #RedForEd demonstration.

Students were delighted with Grumpy’s magic tricks and able to express themselves through their letters to share the things they appreciate in Tucson, and things they would like to see.

After the letter writing activity, Grumpy  helped in getting students safely to their demonstration site during the #RedForEd activities of the day.

Thank you Grumpy for your service to the community!  You are the Heart of Tucson!
