A few upcoming actions you may choose to participate in:
This Friday, July 25th at 7:00am, at the 6thStreet entrance to the Tucson VA is Veterans for Peace weekly sidewalk protest against cuts to VA programs, staff, and services. Veterans for Peace has been shoulder-to-shoulder with us at every protest outside Rep. Ciscomani’s office and so many other actions across Tucson for the last several months. Let’s reciprocate and show them our support!
On Wednesday, July 30th at 8:00am, Honest AZ, Care in Action, and other local organizations are holding a rally and press conference outside Rep. Ciscomani’s office to commemorate Medicaid’s 60thanniversary.
On Saturday, August 2nd at 4:00pm, Congresswoman Yassamin Ansari representing Arizona’s 3rd District, is holding a town hall in Tucson to hold the GOP accountable for the real-life consequences of their Big Ugly Bill.
On Saturday, August 16th at 8:00am, another rally is being held in front of Rep. Ciscomani’s office to raise our voices against any cuts to Social Security. Once again, organized by Honest AZ and a national organization, Save Our Checks, dedicated to exactly that.
Beyond raising our voices at these public venues, those of you interested in tabling with LD17 and LD18 and/or the many other organizations doing so this fall and into next year should consider taking an online refresher on how to register voters in Arizona. Republicans registered 300,000 new voters in 2024. How many new voters will we register in 2026? Pima County Recorder’s Office is holding online training on the following dates.

August
•8/11/2025 2pm-3:30pm allvoting.org/08112025pimavr
September
•9/15/2025 2pm-3:30pm allvoting.org/09152025pimavr
In the fall, LD18 will be working with the Recorder’s Office to bring at least one more online voter registration training to us. All volunteers will be invited. Keep your eye out for other local organizations offering voter registration training, such as Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV).
This is a marathon, not a sprint. Pace yourselves; and be safe out there!
