  • Build relationships and organize Democrats in their neighborhood
  • Register new voters that move into their neighborhood
  • Communicate the principles and platform of the Democratic Party
  • Listen to voter’s concerns and communicate those concerns to the Democratic Party leadership
  • Support Democratic candidates and officeholders representing their neighborhood

The process for electing Precinct Committee members (PCs) is outlined in AZ state law. PCs are elected for a term of two years. The window for PCs to submit their paperwork to be elected for the 2024-26 cycle was in March-April of 2024. In 2025 there will be no process to become an “elected” PC.

In between PC elections, individuals have the option to submit an application to be “appointed.” There are differences between what Appointed and Elected PCs can
and cannot do that are illustrated in the Pima County Democratic Party’s Bylaws. In Pima County the process for submitting an application to appoint a PC for the Democratic party is the following:

  1. Applicant MUST be a registered Democrat in Pima County.
  2. Applicant must complete fill out, sign and date the form linked below. The same form is used for appointments and resignations.
  3. Applicant sends the form as an email attachment or in USPS mail to LD18’s Corresponding Secretary to complete the form.

  1. The form is sent to the PCDP chair for approval.
  2. PCDP will send the form to the Elections Department for approval.
  3. Elections will add the applicant’s name to the Pima County Board of Supervisors (BoS) meeting agenda** for BoS approval.
