News from the Tucson Resistance

On Monday, June 9th, a small group of LD18 Democrat activists gathered at a downtown overpass to display resistance banners. It was very successful, with lots of supportive car honking.

On June 13, the eve of No Kings Day, this same group will display their “NO KINGS NO DICTATORS” banner. Mark your calendars: Friday, June 13th from 7:00am to 8:00am on the bridge over I-10 at Miracle Mile. If you want to join them, bring flags but no other signs unless we have a large group and signs could be displayed to people coming off the freeway and on Miracle Mile. Some parking is available on the west side of the freeway down the hill and outside the gates to the vet school buildings. Carpooling, if possible, would be wise because of parking concerns.

There are several actions scheduled for June 14, No Kings Day. One you may not know about is happening in Oro Valley – details here.

For a list of the multiple actions and events on June 14, as well as other upcoming events, see the LD18dems Events page.

White Lights for Democracy: spearheaded by LD17’s Rachel R.; it’s a simple idea that could catch on quickly! Put small white lights (think Christmas lights) in your front window or in your yard and turn them on at night to highlight solidarity and hope for our democracy. It will literally shine a light on Saving our Democracy.

Be safe! Be kind! Let’s do this!
