Nearly 2,000 Americans attended the weekly protest against Trump and Elon Musk at the River and Oracle Roads Tucson Tesla dealership. The growing crowds mirrored actions in more than 200 ‘Tesla Takedown’ protests throughout the U.S.
“This is a new record for Tucson; the old one set on March 15 was 1,785 people. But certainly also for the country, no other dealership protest comes close to us,” said protest organizer Phineas Anderson.
He added, “We are having an impact: Tesla’s stock is way down. We have to keep up the pressure of large numbers of Tucsonans demonstrating. We encourage others to join our movement by being on the sidewalks.”
The next Tesla protest will be Saturday, April 12, 8:30 – 10 am. Keep your purple ribbons, pin them to your white something, and come to the seventh Tesla protest with friends!
Hundreds of protesters had flocked to Tesla locations in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Minnesota and Texas, the company’s home state.
The protests are succeeding:
- Year to date, Tesla’s stock has plunged 41%, and analysts warn stock could sink 50%.
- Tesla reported its first-ever drop in global sales. In California, the largest EV market in the U.S., Tesla registrations have dropped nearly 12%, while registrations for all other brands have increased by 1.4%.
- Tesla sales are down 50% across Europe. Sales are down by a staggering 70% in Germany alone through February. Protests there link Musk to the Nazi party.
Record numbers of Tesla owners are rushing to sell their cars. There are currently more than 14,000 used Teslas in the U.S., most selling for around $30,000. (New Teslas cost $44,130 for the Model 3 to over $100,000 for the hated Cybertruck.) In contrast, in 2022, the average cost of a used Tesla was $70,000, a decline that has coincided with Musk’s increasing political activity.

It’s so bad that Trump staged a pathetic Tesla commercial at the White House on March 11. Tesla delivered five vehicles to the White House and parked them in a driveway for Trump. It was completely phony because Trump frequently attacked electric cars during last year’s campaign.
