It is very important that we have candidates for all the offices on the ballot in LD 9 for the 2022 election.  It not only increases the voter turnout but helps us develop candidates for other offices in the future. We have candidates who are incumbents or have expressed interest in many offices. The following are offices in some LD 9 precincts where there is not an incumbent Democrat or no one has expressed an interest in running for the office. Let Wally Marcus know  at [email protected] if you need more information about an office, are interested in running for an office, or know someone who might be interested in running for the following offices:

Constable for District 5

A Constable is an elected Peace officer of the County and their Judicial Precinct. A Constable is also the Executive Officer of their Justice Precinct. Pima County Constables serve all of Pima County, which is the 7th largest county in the nation encompassing 9,241 square miles containing over 1 million residents. The Constable’s office serves Civil and Criminal papers of the Pima Justice Court, Pima County agencies/departments, and those papers received from out of area courts equivalent to the level of our Justice Court.

Metro Water District Board

Metropolitan Domestic Water Improvement District is a municipal water provider with more than 21,000 connections, serving the water needs of more than 50,000 people and hundreds of businesses in northwest, northeast, and southwest metropolitan Tucson. Ninety-five percent of Metro Water’s customers are single-family residents. The District Board of Directors is composed of five members who set policy and water rates, provide direction to the General Manager, and oversee the budget and capital expenses. Since the District answered its first call, it has provided increasingly higher levels of fire protection and life safety services to a rapidly growing population. These services are offered from 11 strategically located fire stations situated across the 151 square miles that make up the Northwest Fire District.

Hidden Valley Fire District Board

Fire Districts are organized communities with district boundaries approved by the County Board of Supervisors. Fire Districts can choose to contract with Rural/ Metro Fire Department to provide services. Fire services are then paid through property taxes.

Golder Ranch Fire District Board

Golder Ranch Fire District is governed by a five-person, non-partisan board that is elected by registered voters of the District. Board members are elected for alternating four-year terms. As a result, there are at least two members elected every two years. The Fire Board is charged with diverse responsibilities. Specifically, the Board establishes policy, sets tax rates, approves annual budgets, and hires the Fire Chief. The Fire Board also maintains sole authority to set policy and approval of annexations.
