Thanks to Grillmaster and cheerful organizer Ricky Sage, about 80 PCs, volunteers, leaders and other Democrats celebrated Veterans Day on November 11, 2023, with brats, burgers and beer in Fort Lowell Park.
Ricky is First Vice Chair of LD18. With the help of LD18 EC Rep. Lori Cinnamond, 2nd Vice Chair Dianne Coscarelli, Treasurer Maggie Winchell, and yours truly, he staged a festive picnic where Democrats could chat face-to-face and contemplate the 2024 election. Members told us that they wanted more in-person events, and LD18 delivered.
Dozens of signatures were collected for the Arizona Abortion Abortion Access petitions.
Among those who attended were state Senator Priya Sundareshan, state Reps Nancy Gutierrrez and Chris Mathis, and Pima County Supervisor Rex Scott as well as Joe Danisziewski, DGT President, Michael Bryan, DGT Program Director, Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress Kirsten Engel and Democratic candidate for Pima County Sheriff Sanford (Sandy) Rosenthal and other Democratic activists rubbed who elbows over coleslaw and potato salad.
