“When we Democrats give money, and are giving big sums, we are committed,” said Maria Hidalgo, the LD18 Executive Committee Representative, who found this news story.

“These large fundraising numbers are for Democrats on the national level, it’s a good story to share as a motivation for our local and state races. I think this story is worth telling and retelling for those who may be faint of heart.”

From NBC News with Chuck Todd:

Welcome back to a little Data Download time here. While historical precedent and current numbers suggest Democrats have an uphill battle in this year’s midterms, fundraising numbers suggest the Republican momentum heading into November may be slowing. WinRed, which is the Republicans preferred online platform for contributions to campaigns all over the country, received only $27 million in June. That flowed through its system and contributions last month, and that is down from $37 million in January.

Now there were three intervening events: the start of the war, which slowed everybody’s fundraising, then you had the leak of the Roe opinion and the Roe opinion itself, which jumpstarted Democratic fundraising. That’s at least what Republicans are saying now.

But this disparity is growing, particularly in some of the most competitive Senate races right now. Let me show you the Democratic side with ActBlue, which is the Democrat’s online fundraising platform. They raised more than twice that number, and look at this, their better number was in June, just last month at $65 million versus January of $51 million.

Now you talk to insiders on this, and they say three events slowed down fundraising for everybody: the start of the war, and then the leak of the Roe opinion and the Roe opinion itself, which jumpstarted Democratic fundraising. So that’s at least what Republicans are saying now.

But this disparity is growing, particularly in some of the most competitive Senate races right now.

These are the top Republican fundraisers. Ron Johnson has raised the most in the Senate campaigns at $6.2 million. But I want you to look at those numbers.

Let me show you the Democratic Senate fund. You’re going to see a lot bigger numbers. Look at this — four of the top five Democratic candidates raised eight figures, not seven figures — $17.3 million for Ralph Warnock in Georgia, $13.5 million for Mark Kelly in Arizona, $12.2 million for Val Demings, a challenger in Florida and $10.9 million for John Fetterman, another challenger Pennsylvania. I showed you Tim Ryan sitting at $9.1 million in Ohio.

By the way, if you look back on that Republican page, you see people like JD Vance in Ohio is not doing so good with only $2.3 million, not raising a lot of money. Or Dr. Oz in Pennsylvania, raising only $5.5 million.

So, we’re seeing some big disparities. Marco Rubio’s keeping up with Demings, and right now, there’s no nominee yet in Arizona. Herschel Walker’s keeping up with Warnock but is behind.

You’re seeing if Democrats hold the Senate, we’re going to come back and look at these numbers and point to this as the reason that’s the case.
